Skyward is reinventing the school administration software experience by helping over 2,500 K-12 school districts spend less time on tasks and more time with students. By combining leading edge technology with world-class support, we bring together districts, families, and communities in the digital age.
Founded in central Wisconsin, Skyward has proudly developed and supported two primary product lines: a student information system (SIS) and a finance and human resources management system (ERP).
Let’s rewind to 1980: Before the name “Skyward” came to be, founder Jim King wrote code for the Stevens Point Brewery’s Burroughs B80 computer system. One day, the B80 salesman expressed interest in Jim’s work and asked if he would be willing to write code for other organizations with the same computer system. Jim agreed and soon found himself working with Merrill Area Public Schools to manage personnel and compute salary negotiations information.
As they say, the rest is history. Jim King & Associates, as the company was then called, secured deals to work with three additional Wisconsin districts. Today, Skyward serves over 2,500 districts around the world, totaling over seven million students.
